Getting started
This guide takes you from a fresh install to a launch-ready store.
1. Install the theme
- In Shopify admin, go to Online Store › Themes.
- Add Fieldwick from the Theme Store, or upload the theme zip.
- Click Customize to open the theme editor. Your live theme isn't affected until you click Publish.
2. Set your brand
- Logo: Theme settings › Logo. Upload your logo and set its width. Without a logo, Fieldwick shows your store name with the optional brand mark.
- Colors: Theme settings › Colors. Edit the seven color schemes. Scheme 1 is used for the page background.
- Typography: pick a heading font, a body font and an accent font for the hand-written notes.
- Shape: Theme settings › Layout sets the page width, button shape, card corner radius and grain texture.
- Favicon and social image: add a favicon in Logo settings and a sharing image in Social media.
3. Set up navigation
Create menus in Online Store › Navigation, then select them in the editor.
| Where | Setting | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Header, left | Header › Menu | Your main shopping links. Nested links become dropdowns. |
| Header, right | Header › Secondary menu | Short links such as Our story or Journal. |
| Footer columns | Footer › Menu blocks | Add up to four Menu blocks with a heading each. |
| Collection tabs | Collection page › Category tabs menu | A menu of collections shown as tabs above the product grid. |
4. Prepare products
- Images: square images look best. Choose Contain or Cover and the card image size in Theme settings › Product cards.
- Badges: add a tag that starts with
badge:, for examplebadge:bestseller, to show a hand-drawn badge on the product card. Change the prefix in Product cards settings. Sale and sold-out labels appear automatically. - Card subtitle: cards can show the description excerpt, product type or vendor.
- Size label: set Size option name (for example
Size) to print a single option value such as “12 fl oz” on the card.
5. Build the home page
The Fieldwick preset home page uses these sections. Remove, reorder or duplicate any of them.
- Flavour hero: add a Flavour block per featured product and choose its background and fruit colors.
- Stamp row: short promises shown as rotating stamps.
- Product catalog: pick a main collection and add Collection tab blocks.
- Menu cards: two cards with rows of items and a button each.
- Bundle builder: choose a product with two options (for example Days and Level) and add Schedule slot blocks.
- Journey steps, Story with letter and FAQ to tell your story.
6. Create pages with templates
Fieldwick includes page templates. Create a page in Online Store › Pages and choose the template in the Theme template dropdown.
| Template | Use for |
|---|---|
page.about | Brand story with a page hero, letter, feature grid and call to action. |
page.contact | Contact form styled as a postcard, contact routes and opening hours. |
page.faq | Searchable FAQ with groups and a sticky category list. |
page.wholesale | Trade page with tiers, steps and an application form. |
page.policies | All store policies in one tabbed page. |
page.sitemap | An HTML sitemap of collections, pages and posts. |
7. Before you launch
- Fill in your store policies in Settings › Policies. They appear in the footer and on the policies page.
- Set a homepage title and meta description in Online Store › Preferences.
- Add social links and a social sharing image in Theme settings › Social media.
- Test the cart, checkout and customer accounts on mobile.
